A team from the Executive MBA Marketing Class that graduates October, 2012, is currently doing a business plan for University Studio Apartments. We were one of eight businesses that volunteered to be part of the marketing class projects for the spring semester.

The 7 students on the team are doing a survey of current residents to get their feedback about living here and to better understand the mix of residents and their needs. The students are also researching similar apartment complexes in the area to understand the choices and competition. They are also reviewing this website to learn how well it addresses the needs of prospects and University Studio Apartments.

The students will compile all of their research and suggestions into a business plan to be presented in class. They will then present the full business plan in person to the management of University Studio Apartments.

The New Mexico Business Weekly recently did a story on how UNM’s Anderson School emphasizes hands-on learning, such as this consulting project being done by the marketing students. “Those projects offer hands-on learning,” Dean Doug Brown said. “It’s direct training for students to be successful in business.”
